Football Manning 'forever grateful' for support shown by Robins fans
Bristol Post

IAM Manning has shared a message with Bristol City supporters via the League Manager Association after he completed his move to Norwich City earlier this week.
The Robins confirmed on Tuesday evening that the 39-year-old would be departing Ashton Gate after the Canaries met the release clause in his contract. While the Norfolk-based club are believed to be keen to bring Chris Hogg and James Krause to Carrow Road as well, the Bristol Post understands Norwich are yet to meet the release clause in either coach's deal.
Manning made the switch to BS3 from Oxford United in November 2023. After a mixed first season, he led the Reds to the Championship play-offs for the first time in 17 years last term, where City were eventually beaten in the semi-finals by Sheffield United.
While the journey on the pitch was a bit of a rollercoaster for Manning, things were far from straightforward off of it as well. Last autumn, the Robins confirmed he would be taking a leave of absence, which saw him miss just two matches, following the tragic passing of his baby son, Theo, before he returned to the touchline on an emotional afternoon against Leeds United.
