Football Former City midfielder Massengo makes Augsburg move

FORMER Bristol City talent Han-Noah Massengo has completed a summer transfer away from Burnley, joining Bundesliga club FC Augsburg to end his six-year stay in English football.

The French youth international has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the German club, who finished 12th last season, having spent the second half of last season away from Turf Moor on loan at Auxerre while Scott Parker's side won automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Massengo was on the books at Ashton Gate for four years, having initially made the move to the West Country from Monaco in the summer of 2019. Despite being just 18 years old when he joined the Robins, who were then under the management of Lee Johnson, the midfielder was quickly thrust into the first-team fold, making his City debut against QPR in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

The teenager went on to make 27 appearances for the Robins in all competitions that season, before starting 18 Championship matches the following year, under the guidance of both Dean Holden and Nigel Pearson.
