MORE than 100 complaints were made against dental care across the Bristol region over the last year.
The NHS Integrated Care Board for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, which runs dental care for the region, received the fifth most complaints of any ICB in England during the 2024/25 financial year.
One hundred and thirteen complaints were lodged with the board about NHS dental care in the area, about five per cent of the total complaints nationwide.
The figures were revealed by medical negligence experts Patient Claim Line and confirmed by the care board.
A spokesperson for the NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board said: “We take all feedback about dental services very seriously. The 113 complaints received in 2024/25 represent a small proportion of the total number of people using dental services across our area, but each case is reviewed to identify any lessons and improvements.
“We continue to work closely with NHS England and local dental providers to expand capacity, improve access and ensure everyone can receive the dental care they need”
