Club cricket Jack stars as Weston claim first win of the season

WESTON-SUPER-MARE gained a first win of the season with a 140-run Premier Two, Bristol/Somerset success at home to fellow strugglers Congresbury.

Jack Press cracked 138 from 115 balls, with 19 fours and two sixes, as bottom-of-the-table Weston were bowled out for 256. Congresbury collapsed to 116 all out, as George Bemand led the Weston attack with 4-34.

Golden Hill top the table following a comfortable win at home to Twyford House. Alex Quin top-scored with 43 in House's 162, and Hill eased to their target with six wickets to spare, thanks in large to an unbeaten 81 from Daaryoush Ahmed.

Second-placed Lansdown bowled out Downend for 105 at Combe Park, with Luke Charlesworth (4-21) the chief destroyer. Lansdown's chase was far from straightforward, but the Bath side eventually got home with four wickets left.
