Suspect in court for abuse and kidnapping

A 42-YEAR-OLD man appeared in the Mahwelereng Magistrate's Court last Tuesday after serious charges, including two counts of attempted murder, rape, kidnapping, assault, malicious damage to property, and violation of protection orders were brought against him.

According to police reports, the suspect is believed to be the husband of the 34-year-old victim, and the alleged abuse dates back to March 2021 when the victim left their marital home and initiated divorce proceedings.
