THORNTREE Senior College officially opened its doors in 2024 with a pioneering Gr 8 class of just 15 learners, but its roots stretch back further.

In 2018, Helyn Pope, head of Thorntree Academy, began to envision a senior college that would extend the nurturing environment of the preparatory phase into the high school. By 2019, this vision had taken firm hold, a dream to build a place of safety, growth, and empowerment for Mokopane's youth.
That dream is now a vibrant reality, driven by passionate teachers and supported by families who believe in raising leaders, not just school-leavers.
