Your views essential on the future creation of a new community council

PUBLIC CONSULTATION LAUNCHED IN ANTICIPATION OF BOSTON BOROUGH COUNCIL TO ENSURE LOCAL PEOPLE HAVE A VOICE

BOSTON Borough Council has initiated Stage 2 of a Community Governance Review consultation, urgently seeking input from residents, businesses, and organizations regarding the creation of a parish/town council for the centre of Boston.

The consultation, which began on Monday, March 2, specifically focuses on the area currently managed by the Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC).

This action is critical because the council's anticipated abolition by 2028, due to progressing Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) in Greater Lincolnshire, would otherwise leave Boston Town Centre without a local governing voice.

A CGR is a formal process that involves consulting with local people and stakeholders about potential changes to local representation.

An additional consultation is also running with households within two areas to the north of the Wyberton parish ward. This consultation is asking those residents for views on whether their area becomes part of Wyberton Parish or part of a new Boston Parish/Town Council, if one is created.
