A BOSTON fundraiser had a 'brush with death' last month, when she suffered strokes in Germany and a hospital refused to treat her.
The local health services refused to honour her GHIC card - the new version of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
Good Samaritan Maggie Cullen was cycling across Europe to raise money for Brain Cancer Research when she had a 'funny turn' in Bad Mergentheim and was rushed to hospital.
She said: “They didn’t accept my GHIC card, so they wanted €2000 euros for an overnight inpatient stay and a CT scan.”
