Clear-up continues following damage to Jenny’s Wood

THE clean-up is continuing after a meadow in Wyberton was damaged last week.

Jenny's Wood off West End Road, a part of the Sir Joseph Banks Country Park, suffered damage to several trees when 15 caravans gained access to the meadow by allegedly removing a gatepost with a chain-saw.

The Boston Woods Trust, which is responsible for just under 150 acres of woodland around Boston, now faces a £5,000 bill.

The trust has responsibility for Fenside Woods and Dion’s Wood Nature Reserve near Pilgrim Hospital.

The uninvited guests arrived on Monday April 14 at 7.30pm and representatives of Boston Wood Trust quickly took action and Boston Borough Council and two officers of Lincolnshire Police were called.
