The series on the stars who topped the bill at Blackpool's Palace Theatre, which closed in 1961, continues with Sir Harry Lauder and Victoria Monks.

Sir Harry was internationally known. Victoria was a Blackpool star, whose life and career is recognised by a blue plaque on a house in Elizabeth Street, where she once lived.
Scottish singer Harry Lauder (1870-1950, knighted in 1919) is remembered for songs like I Love a Lassie, Roamin' in the Gloamin' and Stop Your Tickling Jock and got the following review in the Gazette in July, 1907.
"A finer comedy vocal artist the stage does not know. His delightful songs, his pure humour and his drolleries all give evidence of his genius.
"One follows him through his songs with enthusiasm and laughs as he reels off his quaint quips.
