Tributes to drama teacher who inspired hundreds of students

Tributes have been paid to a Blackpool drama teacher who helped nurture the talent of hundreds of pupils over many years.

Jack Ganley, who has died aged 88, was long the drama specialist at the Whittaker Dance and Drama Centre in Hornby Road, which was founded by his late wife Beryl in 1952.

Beryl, who died in 2006, specialised in dance and after the couple met and married, the centre’s brief extended to drama, with Jack also playing piano in dance lessons.
