West Midlands is back of the queue for cyclists

THE West Midlands is one of the worst places in the country for cyclists, it has been claimed.

City Ratings rated towns and cities on how amenable they are to cycling.
The analysis put Warwick on top spot in the West Midlands but the region as a whole trails London and sits in joint last place alongside Greater Manchester.
The ratings rank areas for the quality and connectivity of the bike network, low-speed limits, and safe crossings.
All ratings are out of 100 and Warwick scored 61. Birmingham and Sandwell were next in line, both scoring 54.
The three worst-performing locations were Solihull (41), Dudley (44) and Walsall (46).
The region saw investment under the previous mayor, Sir Andy Street - and has recently secured £21 million in new government funding secured through the Active Travel Fund.
