Businesswoman racks up £153k phone bill in US

O2 agree to waive charges after ludicrous charge which saw one call cost £37,000 alone

A BUSINESSWOMAN racked up a £153,000 phone bill during just 12 days in San Francisco with a single call costing £37,000.

Karenjeet Kaur Johal, 27, was horrified when her mobile-phone contract provider Currys Business emailed to say her May bill was £57,386.

Then her June bill was £96,098.

It transpired the West Midlands business owner had been using her phone abroad during a business trip with no data spend caps or roaming passes.

Karenjeet said she asked for a £100 data limit when she set up the account but emails from Currys claim there is no record of this in its transcripts.
