Ty extends Villa stay and vows the best is to come

TYRONE Mings has signed a contract extension with Villa.

It is believed the defender’s deal is now valid until 2027.

Mings’ previous contract was set to expire next summer, but Villa have moved to secure his services for an additional 12 months.

Following a loan spell in 2018/19, the 32-year-old joined Villa permanently from Bournemouth in the summer of 2019 after the club’s promotion to the Premier League and has been a stalwart at Villa Park throughout his six-and-a-half years with the club.

Mings played a key role in helping Villa return to European football during Unai Emery’s first season in charge. However, he suffered a serious knee ligament injury in the opening game of the following campaign at Newcastle.

After missing over a year of football, he returned to action in the Carabao Cup match against Crystal Palace in October.
