AS so many families will know only too well, this is results time! A-Levels first, then GCSEs.

Obviously, this is a period of considerable stress for students, teachers and parents alike as they wait for the news, results that will greatly influence their future studies for those taking GCSEs and university admission prospects for A-Level students.

These exams are sometimes described as a rite of passage. Some rites of passage simply mark the passage of time: moving from primary to secondary school etc. But the first public exams to be taken are of a different nature. They rely so much on the particular input of the individual.
