Suspensions and injuries mean a lack of remaining options for Saints clash

City’s problems are mounting ahead of a daunting final game of 2025 against Southampton.Skipper Christoph Klarer saw red in the Boxing Day draw with Derby County for a high challenge on Ebou Adams in stoppage time, meaning he won't feature against Southampton, Watford or Coventry City.

Blues had already lost Demarai Gray to a muscular injury 15 minutes in and Chris Davies expects to be without his talismanic left-winger against Southampton tonight.

Their squad is being tested to the max right now with Alex Cochrane unlikely to be fit and Tommy Doyle already suspended.

Davies has to problem solve again. Going into a match without Klarer, who has been ever-present in the Championship, is the last thing Blues’ manager would want.
