Street evacuated after man pulls grenade pin

A MIDLAND man showing his mates a hand grenade he'd picked up at an antiques market sparked a bomb squad evacuation of his street after he pulled the pin.
The army was called in to seal off Bixton Close in Northwick, Worcester, after the resident caused panic on Sunday evening.
He'd bought the RG-42 from an antiques market over a year ago for £30 and didn’t reckon it was live until he pulled the pin and it “started making a noise”.
Police set up a 100 metre cordon in the residential street before a bomb disposal unit arrived to take away the World War Two Russian explosive device.
The man said he'd been showing off the item he'd bought in Malvern to a few pals when he pulled the pin and twigged something was up.
He added: “I pulled the pin and it started making noises.
