BIRMINGHAM Museum and Art Gallery is celebrating 140 years since the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) opened its doors for the first time, back on November 28, 1885.

As part of its celebrations, the museum - which an estimated 100 million people have visited over the years - is opening for 'hidden spaces' tours into the areas few people ever see. The hour-long tours (£15 for adults, £7.50 for kids, £12 for concessions and £5 for members) will take you beyond the gallery
