ZEPIQUENO Redmond has posted an emotional farewell to Feyenoord as he begins a “new chapter” at Villa.

- By JAMES PALLATT

The 19-year-old striker is Villa's first signing of the summer transfer window, moving to Villa Park as a free agent after his contract at Feyenoord expired.

A product of the Rotterdam club’s academy, Redmond made his breakthrough last season, notably playing in the Champions League for the Dutch giants, against AC Milan and Inter Milan.

Posting a message on Instagram, he said: “As a little boy, I drove past De Kuip countless times. Every time I dreamt of being able to stand there on the field myself. That dream has come true: playing in the magical stadium De Kuip.

“This past year has flown by. I am extremely grateful to the staff for the trust and the opportunities I got to show myself at the highest level.

“I cherish those moments and experiences and will carry with them into my career further. Now a new chapter begins.
