VILLAGE CENTRE REGENERATION FUNDING COMES UNDER DISCUSSION
PROGRESS on the next stage of an ambitious village centre regeneration projected was in the spotlight at a scrutiny meeting.
A large-scale rejuvenation of central Kingshurst gained approval from planners in April 2022 with the aim for it to be completed by 2026.
Phase one saw 25 social rented homes a mix of three and four-bedroom built on the site of the former Mountfort pub with residents moving in last year.
Phase two includes plans for a ‘community, health and retail’ building. It is set to include purpose-built premises for Kingshurst Medical Practice and Kingshurst Dental Surgery, a pharmacy, a library space including a community cafe and a convenience store run by Coop which already operates a village store.
