Plenty more work to do admits Albion boss

ALBION head coach Ryan Mason believes there is plenty for his team to work on after Saturday's 4-2 preseason defeat to Lincoln City.

- By STAFF REPORTER

Karlan Grant and Devante Cole were on target during the second period at the LNER Stadium, but the Baggies’ Sky Bet League One opponents took full advantage of their chances in the Lincolnshire sunshine.

Those moments were something Mason took “responsibility” for in his post-match debrief - expressing his desire to fix them ahead of Albion’s final friendly match against Rayo Vallecano next weekend.

He said: “It was disappointing, and not just the result, but I also understand there's a lot to do.

“It's our third game this week, which was good from some aspects, but I don’ think any of us were happy with the start we made to the game.

“This is something we need to fix quickly because the first Championship game is two weeks away.

“There's positives from a physical side, and there's the preseason aspect, which says a lot at this stage.

“But, ultimately, we need to try and accelerate this process as quickly as possible.
