POPULAR FESTIVAL WILL BE HELD IN HONOUR OF AUTHOR JRR TOLKIEN

- STAFF REPORTER

Middle-earth makes a welcome return to the Midlands

A FESTIVAL is to be held in Birmingham in honour of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien.

The Tolkien Society, a fan club and educational charity, announced it is bringing back the popular event on Sarehole Recreation Ground, close to where the international bestseller lived in Hall Green.

The festival will be a chance to learn more about his creations, legacy and will feature plenty of things to do for families and fans alike.

Tolkien spent many hours exploring the grounds of Sarehole Mill as a child and it inspired him to create Middle-earth.
