PREMIER League leaders Langley Arrows got their hands on silverware after lifting the Punchbowl in the Sheldon and District Winter League.

- ALAN TOWE

In the semi-finals Langley Arrows beat their third-placed Division Two opponents Trident Spears 6-1 to set up a final against Highwood.

The latter, third in the Premier League, had a narrow 4-3 win over Mackadown Sports and Social Club, who are next to bottom of the Premier.

The final followed league form with Langley Arrows running out the 5-2 winners.

There was just one rearranged Division Two fixture played in which second-placed Maggies won 7-2 at CBMC-A, who are fourth.

Kings Norton League leaders Northfield accounted for second-placed Greenlands to reach the final of the League Cup.

The meeting between the top two ended with a 6-1 win for Northfield with their A Busby recording a 160 break. In the second semi-final, fifth-placed Stirchley won 6-1 against Pavillions who are next to bottom in the league table.

There were also the last four games of the Consolation Cup, which brought about no real surprises as Longbridge accounted for Pavillions with a 5-2 result and Cock Inn beat E57 6-1.

Northfield Conservative Club made it 16 wins in 18 games in the Harborne and District League after adding an 8-1 away win at Stag and Three Horseshoes to their tally.

The winners top the table with 32 points and have a lead of two over Copper Fox 'R', Northfield Darts Club and Smethwick Cricket Club.

Copper Fox 'R' were 8-1 winners at Cock Inn and although trailing the leaders by two points they have two games in hand on them plus a superior average.

Third-placed Northfield Darts Club, who have one game in hand on the table-toppers, won their home tie with Weoley Castle Pub 7-2, while Smethwick Cricket Club sit fourth after 18 games after a 6-3 win at home over Windsor Complex.
