HAVING qualified for next summer's World Cup finals, England footballers wait to find out what their group will comprise when the draw is made on Friday December 5 at the Kennedy Centre in Washington DC at 5pm (UK time).

If Kane is able, England have a decent shot at World Cup win

England's Harry Kane shoots under pressure from Ardian Ismajli of Albania

When the group is known, then England will plan who their two appropriate friendly opponents will be for next March.

I am sure this talented England squad will progress to the finals’ knockout stages and then the real tests will begin. England have never gone beyond the quarterfinals when the World Cup has been played outside Europe.

This squad set new records in their qualifying European group, albeit it was against the usual weak lineup of opponents.

An improving Albania side (who will finished second and are in the playoffs) proved a tough defensive nut to crack on Sunday but Harry Kane scored both goals in Tirana on Sunday as England ran out 2-0 winners for the second time in four days.

Captain Kane is such a key goalscorer. He has now scored 78 international goals in 112 matches. He is having a wonder season at Bayern Munich with 17 goals in 23 matches.

Thomas Tuchel is definitely having a big impact since becoming head coach on January 1, and on Sunday Jarell Quansah was the seventh player to be given an England debut in the 10 matches to date. Tuchel is making sure there is competition with no one apart from Kane an automatic choice - yet. However, he surely has to play Jude Bellingham next summer.

The German is a bit over controlling at times. He talks about England players competing for places in the team and then berates Bellingham in public for his sulking attitude when he substitutes Jude for Morgan Rogers!

Tuchel is very forthright and revealing in interviews - a nice change from the normal guarded ones in football.
