Drug-fuelled son killed mum over TV remote

FRAIL PENSIONER REPEATEDLY KICKED AND STAMPED ON IN HER HOME
A MAN has been jailed for life for murdering his elderly mother in a frenzied attack in which he lashed out after she took a TV remote control from him.
Surjit Singh, 39, repeatedly kicked and stamped on 76-year-old Mohinder Kaur after chasing her around the family home, a court heard.
The frail pensioner, who was discovered by police lying on the living room floor, died later the same day on September 29 last year.
Birmingham Crown Court heard that Singh flew into a drink and drug fuelled rage at the property in Handsworth after his mum took the TV remote off him.
A postmortem examination revealed Mrs Kaur suffered multiple injuries to her head, neck and limbs and a cause of death was given as blunt force trauma.
Singh admitted murder and was jailed for life, with a minimum of 15 years.
