Plaques commemorating the dead of two world wars were ripped from stone settings, while benches were also damaged
A FORMER councillor has condemned shameful vandals who damaged a Remembrance memorial in Birmingham.
John Lines, president of the Remembrance Day Committee for Bartley Green, was angered when he discovered that dozens of plaques in honour of local World War I and II soldiers had been ripped from their stone settings.
The thugs had also torn the armrests from benches on the island on Romsley Road and Field Lane.
