Difficult to fawlt classic comedy on stage

WHEN you think of the finest British sitcoms over the years, there's every chance that Fawlty Towers comes out either top or very near, even 50 years on.

Such is the everlasting appeal and brilliance of 12 classic episodes from the mid-1970s, it's hardly surprising that John Cleese decided to transfer his classic comedy to the West End.

Like many people, I love the TV show and have fond memories of growing up watching it on repeat with my dad, who was a huge fan.

Before the actors hit the stage, the first impressions were strong: one of the best sets I can recall, recreating Torquay's troubled tourist spot in spectacular fashion.

You instantly felt yourself transported into a familiar world where you knew exactly what to expect - chaos!

From the moment the dialogue starts and the familiar faces are introduced, it feels absolutely spot on.
