RSPCA FOUND EMACIATED PET WITH ONE OF HER PUPS
A COUPLE who claimed their emaciated dog was given to them by drug dealers have been banned from keeping animals after an RSPCA investigation.
Simon Short, 49, now of Chestnut Road, Moseley, and partner Leanne Louise Wright, 37, now of Sheffield, were both issued 10-year bans and 18-month community orders at Coventry Magistrates Court after they pleaded guilty to offences contrary to the Animal Welfare Act.
Both were also sentenced to 20 rehabilitation days. Short was also given 100 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £350 costs and a victim surcharge of £114.
