Blues tired and weary of Poku waiting game

The club made a play to sign Poku at the end of last season but have been forced to wait while the Ghanaian winger and his agent consider other options at home and abroad.

The 23-year-old is out of contract at Peterborough but would still cost a hefty sum because he is under 24.

Overseas clubs would only have to pay Posh minimal compensation and there is growing concern at their end that Poku will head abroad.

Barry Fry, Peterborough’s director of football, has attempted to steer Poku towards his former club but Blues have grown tired of waiting.

They are determined to build a squad capable of competing for promotion in next season's Championship and are keen to add multiple wingers to their ranks.

Poku’s deliberation over the deal has forced them to consider their own options. The club's recruitment team are now pursuing other right-wingers on the market.
