Alex insists it will all click into place

ENGLAND goalscorer Alex Scott said it is “a matter of time” before the goals will come after Lee Carsley’s side lost 2-1 to Germany to finish as runners-up in their European Under-21 Championship group.

The Bournemouth midfielder tapped home Omari Hutchison’s cross 15 minutes from time in Slovakia, but the reigning champions slipped to defeat after goals in the first half by Germany pair Ansgar Knauff and Nelson Weiper.

It means the 2023 winners will face a rematch with Spain, who they defeated to lift the trophy two years ago, in the quarter-finals tomorrow, but they do so in patchy form having followed up last Sunday's goalless draw against Slovenia with a disappointing loss to round off the group stage.
