The hidden gem loved by the stars

A beloved cafe with celebrity patrons has survived ten years - despite facing battles over the past decade.

Gather - a snazzy hideaway in the trendy Batheaston suburb - is always busy and enjoys the favour of big stars like The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil and The Walking Dead lead Andrew Lincoln.

But despite being a runaway success, co-owner Lucy Loran has admitted rising costs has made running the family-owned cafe challenging.

A combination of business rates rises and challenges to expand their team have made the past decade complicated, while its off the beaten track location is both a blessing and a curse.

While Gather is always bustling, the cafe is in a suburban location. A short drive away from Bath’s feted city centre, a lot of tourists aren’t even aware of Batheaston.
