Pre-school delighted with Ofsted report

Children “arrive happy and keen to attend” at a Bath nursery where staff “go above and beyond” to meet their needs, according to a newly published Ofsted report.
Happy Days Nursery and Pre-School Bath, located on Kellaway Lane in Combe Down, has retained its ‘Good’ rating following an inspection on Wednesday, March 12. Inspectors praised the provision across all key areas - quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management - each of which was judged to be good.
The nursery, which caters for 141 children aged up to four and offers 72 places, was lauded for its nurturing environment and “very warm and trusting relationships” between staff and children. “Babies cuddle into staff who attend to their care routines consistently to help them feel safe and secure,” the report states. “Children behave well and learn to be kind, polite and responsible. Staff are good role models who address any minor issues gently and effectively.”
Inspectors noted that the nursery provides “safe and accessible play spaces” that allow children to explore freely, both indoors and in the garden. This layout supports children’s independence and confidence. Staff were found to be enthusiastic and encouraging, helping to motivate children through activities built around their interests. “Toddlers join in action songs with great enthusiasm, create with many materials and play imaginatively in the mud kitchen,” the report said.
