Tanachira optimistic on outlook for lifestyle sector

SET-listed Tanachira Retail Corporation, an importer and distributor of lifestyle fashion brands, says the lifestyle sector is resilient amid ongoing uncertainty in Thailand's business landscape.

Tanapong Chirapanidchakul, chief executive of Tanachira Retail, said the private sector remains uncertain ahead of the upcoming election and the border dispute with Cambodia.

Businesses are adopting a wait-and-see strategy as it remains unclear who will become the country’s next policymakers, said Mr Tanapong.

The recent border clashes with Cambodia have contributed to negative sentiment, affecting the country’s image, especially as the economy heavily depends on tourism.

“If these issues are resolved, I believe tourism will be a key driver of the entire economy,” he said.
