Senator wants better border centre chief

The next secretary-general of the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC) should be someone better suited to the job, a senator says.
Sen Chaiyong Maneerungsakul, a former adviser to the SBPAC, criticised past appointments, saying the selection of individuals whose backgrounds did not match the agency's mission had "distorted" the SBPAC's operations. On Sept 2, the cabinet of the Pheu Thai-led government approved the transfer of SBPAC secretary-general Pol Lt Col Wannapong Kotcharak to the post of permanent secretary of the Labour Ministry.
