Residents evacuate amid flash floods

Residents of Chang Kian community in tambon Chang Phueak were caught off guard when flash floods swept through their homes, triggered by heavy rain in Muang district.
The municipal office says the downpour began at around 10pm on Tuesday, and by 11pm a sudden surge of water from Doi Suthep inundated the area, damaging houses, shops, and vehicles. Floodwaters ranged from 30 centimetres to a metre deep, forcing residents to evacuate quickly.
Some had not yet returned home when the water struck.
