Police warn gold shops on robberies

Police in Bangkok will convene a meeting next week with gold shop owners across the capital, particularly those in high-risk areas, and insurance companies to review crime statistics and strengthen preventive measures against potential robberies.

Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) Commissioner Pol Lt Gen Siam Boonsom announced the plan yesterday. The meeting is expected to produce joint strategies between police, retailers, and insurers to reduce risks and reassure the public of safety in commercial areas.
