PM readies cabinet amid frayed ties
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed yesterday that Gen Nattaphon Narkphanit will continue handling defence-related matters in his new cabinet, which is undergoing final vetting and is expected to be completed this week.
Mr Anutin said he approached Gen Nattaphon, the caretaker deputy defence minister, to join the lineup and planned to discuss the latter's approach to security issues ahead of today’s Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) meeting in Cambodia.
He said the government will work to restore economic relations between the two countries, and all mechanisms will be deployed to ease tensions.
