An anti-corruption group is pressing parliament to review newly appointed Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul’s suitability for the role.

- AEKARACH SATTABURUTH

The Anti-Corruption People’s Network from Four Regions, led by failed Senate candidate Akkarawat Pongthanachalitkul, yesterday petitioned parliament, citing the prime minister's alleged links to land and Senate vote-rigging controversies.

The group cited concerns over his alleged involvement in the Khao Kradong land dispute and alleged collusion in the Senate selection process.

Mr Akkarawat submitted the petition to House Speaker Wan Muhamad Noor Matha through the Speaker's Office. The letter called for a thorough review of Mr Anutin’s qualifications, as well as those of future cabinet members and deputy ministers, to make sure they have no ethical or legal conflicts that could undermine public trust.
