Suspects plotting pre-Ramadan unrest
Security officials are investigating a string of five small explosions in Yi-ngo district on Saturday night and two in Rangae district yesterday morning, in what authorities believe was an insurgent group's attempt to stir up unrest ahead of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Investigators reviewing CCTV footage said two suspects were involved in the first explosions.
One suspect drove a motorcycle while wearing a helmet, and a passenger wore a cap, investigators said, adding they carried five bombs, each weighing about 1 kilogramme, in plastic bags.
