China is no longer merely a low-cost manufacturing base, but rather a frontrunner in cutting-edge technological development, including for the digital economy, artificial intelligence (AI), clean energy and smart transport systems.

The trade relationship between Thailand and China is a mutually supportive partnership.

While imports from China exceed exports, the majority of imports consist of semi-finished raw materials and capital goods, including machinery, equipment and electronic products. These products play a vital role in bolstering Thailand's manufacturing capabilities, adding value, and propelling Thai exports to the global market.

More than 80% of Thailand's exports to China comprise industrial and agricultural products, such as machinery, electronic goods, durian, rice, rubber and plastics.

By leveraging its strengths in product quality and branding, Thailand has substantial opportunities for future market expansion.
