Candidate suspended after arrest

The People's Party (PP) has suspended one of its election candidates in Tak province after he was arrested for alleged involvement in online gambling.
Ratchapong Soisuwan, the incumbent MP for Constituency 2 that includes Mae Sot district in the northern province, will not be replaced, PP leader Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut said yesterday.
Mr Ratchapong, 32, was arrested by Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau police at his Bangkok residence on Wednesday. Police yesterday took him to the Criminal Court in Bangkok, seeking his detention on charges of online gambling and money laundering.
