BMA unveils new clean-air measures

Plan widens zones and tightens checks

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and its network partners will adopt 10 new measures to help reduce PM2.5 in the city for 2026.

Tavida Kamolvej, Bangkok deputy governor, and Pornphrom Vikitsreth, chief sustainability officer of Bangkok and adviser to the governor, yesterday attended the Central Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command Centre’s meeting on next year’s pollution control in the capital, which led to the adoption of the measures.

Among them is the designation of the Low Emission Zone (LEZ), which will be expanded to cover all of Bangkok's 50 districts, and a Green List Plus project to encourage regular motor oil and air filter replacement, targeting 500,000 vehicles.
