India's eastern state of Bihar will hold its elections in November, the country's Election Commission said, in a contest widely seen as a test of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity.

Modi: Keen to push reforms
The state elections will be held in two phases on Nov 6 and 11, and results will be declared on Nov 14, Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar said. The latest electoral roll lists a total of 74 million voters, with about a fourth of them between 18 to 29 years of age.
