A CRIME DRAMA OF QUALITY
Bangkok Post

Task, starring Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey, is a 7-episode cliffhanger

In the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, an FBI agent leads a task force determined to stop a string of violent robberies carried out by an unlikely family.
That's the central premise of Task, a seven-episode limited series starring Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey. The show is emotional, gritty and tense — one of the new crime dramas that may well be worth your binge time.
Because Task is being released weekly — new episodes arrive every Sunday —you'll need patience to follow the entire journey. This is not a series that throws everything at you in the first hour. Instead, it unfolds slowly, full of mystery, character studies and complex investigations. At its core, Task feels less like a straight-up crime procedural and more like a slow-burn family drama.
From the first episode, we're introduced to two parallel storylines. On one side is Tom Brandis (Ruffalo), an FBI agent and former Catholic priest tasked with investigating a wave of armed robberies. On the other side is Robbie Prendergrast (Pelphrey), a daytime garbage collector who moonlights as a robber, targeting “trap houses” run by drug gangs in Philadelphia.
