Lack of crop insurance Gohil demands full compensation for farmers of Gujarat

Says Guj only state to have stopped crop insurance; to launch Khedut Akrosh Yatra

Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil has raised concerns about the absence of crop insurance scheme in the state as Gujarat farmers face massive losses in the wake of unseasonal and incessant rains.

Gohil has demanded that the state fully compensate farmers who have lost their entire crop.

To highlight the plight of farmers, the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee on Wednesday announced the Khedut Akrosh Yatra from November 6 to 13. The yatra will begin from the Somnath Mahadev Jyotirling under the leadership of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Chavda and Legislative Congress Party Leader Tushar Chaudhary.
