GARC Proposes 8-Fold Hike in District Planning Budget

Gujarat Administrative Reforms Commission submits report to CM Patel, recommends shift in decision-making power to elected representatives

A seven- to eight-fold increase in the district planning budget over the next five years and the transformation of District Planning Boards (DPBs) into District Planning Committees with a majority representation of elected representatives are among the recommendations made in the fourth report of the Gujarat Administrative Reforms Commission (GARC).

It also recommends the adoption of a fixed planning calendar, creation of integrated committees at the taluka level, and the introduction of Village Development Plans.

GARC Chairman Dr. Hasmukh Adhia presented the report to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday.
