'We're not greedy'- bakery hikes prices

THE twin sisters behind one of Great Harwood’s most beloved bakeries have shared a candid message with their loyal customers, shedding light on the hidden challenges of running a bustling small business ~ even one that sells out within minutes.
Rachel and Lauren Finch, the founders of Finch Bakery, posted an ‘honesty post’ on Instagram this week, explaining why they've made the difficult decision to raise prices on some of their much-loved products.
Known for their viral ‘Instagram-worthy’ treats - including cookie pies, stuffed brownies and eye-catching tray bakes - Finch Bakery has developed a cult following over the past decade. What began in Great Harwood has now expanded to locations in Blackburn, Birmingham and a popup inside Selfridges at the Trafford Centre.
But behind the success lies a tougher reality. In a candid Instagram post, Rachel and Lauren informed customers that they would need to raise their product prices by a small amount - while attempting to provide a transparent explanation for their decision.
‘The duo revealed that despite the business achieving a £1.8m turnover last year, they had remained unable to generate any profit owing to escalating expenses, including salaries, business rates and the cost of supplies and ingredients.
