Craft ale bar wins approval for expansion

Paul Fox - owner of the The Crafty Fox in Abbey Street, Accrington - expects work on extending his premises to start in six months time with a view to open the new venue by the middle of next year.

His company, The Gastropub Kitchen Co Ltd, applied for planning permission in January for the change of use of the adjoining building from retail area and parts storage for vehicle repair garage to drinking establish-ment/restaurant. Now that bid has been approved by Hyndburn Council with five conditions.

The Crafty Fox opened in 2021 with a Victorian-inspired aesthetic and field to fork menu.

Mr Fox said: "I am over the moon. I have been waiting long enough. We will probably start work in about six months.
