Reid: We are out to finish on a high

EVEN for five-time champions Toulouse, achieving a perfect 15 points from 15 record from the first three rounds of the Champions Cup had proved beyond them until this season.

Reid: We are out to finish on a high

So that goes to show you the scale of Bath’s achievement in matching them point for point en route to this top-ofthe-table Pool 2 clash at the Stade Ernest-Wallon, and that’s ignoring the fact the 1998 champions hadn’t won for four years at this level at the start of the tournament.

Both teams are already qualified, as you’d expect after such results, however Bath’s back row enforcer Miles Reid wants a big finish to the current block of matches before signing off for a well-learned vacation.

Reid has a holiday to Lisbon booked but before that, this weekend’s trip to Toulouse and the short hop to Bristol next Saturday, represent opportunities to really hammer home their silverware-winning credentials as club rugby prepares to take a back seat to the Six Nations.

“There’s a big break after these next two games so to finish on a high for us would be massive,” said the 25-year-old, who put in 13 tackles against Racing 92 last Sunday and will no doubt have to make many more again in south-west France.

“We’ve got this game this weekend which we are focusing on and the one the week after (against Bristol) is probably a totally different kettle of fish. We’ll try and get the job done this week and then we’ll see about next week.
