Carreras' boot keeps Gloucester in control

EXEMPLARY goal kicking from Santiago Carreras proved just enough to ensure Gloucester continued their impressive record in cup competitions this season.
Having already won the Premiership Cup, Gloucester moved into the quarterfinals next weekend courtesy of 15 points from the boot of their Argentinian international full-back.
Both sides scored three tries, with two from the French coming in the last eight minutes to make the final score far closer than it should have been.
After 32 minutes, Gloucester led 21-7 and looked in control but a tepid second-half performance from them and a bench-improved Castres set up a tense finish.
The French had begun strongly with an early try but throughout they were error-ridden as befits an out-of-form side which I had lost their last four Top . 14 games to plummet to . eighth in the league table.
Gloucester director of -rugby George Skivington I said: "Winning is what is important at this stage and we're happy to get through.
